Exchange  2013 on a VMWare

Hi,

here is a quick question that would be good to get som info on.

I have on Exchange 2013 server with all roles UM as well, it is a Windows 2012 r2 on a VMWare, disk are on Dell Equalogic san. The server is in a two server DAG, but users can only logon to this server. I will later delete the dag and uninstall the Exchange from the server.  The users logon to a Citrix server using Outlook 2013.  There are only 200 users, sending a lot of PDF attachment.

The users are complaining about a slow respons in Outlook, the server is using  94%  I am wondering what would be suitable CPU and memory for this

server. It is configured now with 4 cores and 16gb memory.

What is your 94%? CPU, memory or disk?

Since you're already on VM, you can just increase the resource and monitor the utilization.

Hi,

Lower performance depends on more factors, CPU, memory, DISK, also network bandwidth.

For your question, we need increase the resource as above mentioned, especially CPU, memory.
The suitable value of those is basis on your real product environment, here's an blog with a example scenario to discuss the hardware deployment, for your reference: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/05/06/ask-the-perf-guy-sizing-exchange-2013-deployments.aspx
